With the onset of each major new technology, it helps to transform an existing social-economical-political structure to a new state together with its dominant forces and shaping factors.

In the old agriculture age, the dominant force was religion; in industry age, it’s the nation-states; in current information age, it’s the corporations; in the emerging participation or conscious-technology age, it will be the individuals. Gradually, technologies have moved us humans from being afraid of nature, passive defenders of environmental forces, and religious worshippers out of fear and uncertainty in the agriculture age, to the present where the power of information, biological and quantum technology have enable an individual to do a great degree of good or damage.  Indeed, with the passing of time, rapidly increasing power to influence and impact the world’s events have been shifted from a nation-state, corporation toward a society’s individuals. In this transition of dominance by nation-states and corporations to shift the power to individuals, old orders will be modified and disrupted, and new orders would emerge in place of the old ones. Everyone will have a hand in constructing the new world orders in the next several centuries – would it be harmonious and pleasant ones or a chaotic, cruel and discord ones? Would it be a one that everyone on the planet Earth work together so that humanity and civilization can move to the next higher level, to move beyond the current situation of bickering and in-fighting nations fractured by the divisive boundaries of nation, religion, race, narrow-minded self interests, or a one that conflicts, wars, mad individuals with enormous destructive power afforded by the advancing technology running around to do massive harm to humanity and kill the civilization at its infancy?

In order for civilization to move forward, it will require all the skills, resources and intelligence that all the earthlings have, every one’s effort is critical and no one should wait till someone else to start as it may not happen before it becomes too late.
